City of Ottertail
TH 108 Improvements

Project Details

Apex was pleased to partner with the City of Ottertail to improve Main Street. Trunk Highway 108, also known as Main Street within the City of Ottertail, MN required street, sidewalk, drainage, and street lighting enhancements. Apex worked with the MnDOT as well as the City of Ottertail to establish a design that met MnDOT’s requirements for lighting and pedestrian traffic, yet resolved ongoing drainage issues and provided a fresh look for the City’s commercial district.

The project team coordinated the removal and replacement of sidewalk, installation of new curb and gutter and valley gutters, reconstruction of parking lanes, as well as the installation of new street lighting. All design efforts met MnDOT’s standards as the majority of the project area was within the State’s right of way.

Apex staff provided professional services for all phases of the project from start to finish including preliminary planning, design, bidding, and construction administration and observation. Given the nature of the project, numerous coordination meetings were held with property owners, City staff, and MnDOT, and the construction phase was to be completed in fashion to minimize effects on businesses adjacent to the project area.
