31st Avenue SE Reconstruction
Broadway (US 83) to 13th Street SE

Project Details

This corridor serves as an arterial roadway for the southeast part of Minot. 31st Avenue SE was a 2-lane rural roadway with a shared-use path on the south side. The project constructed a 3-lane urban concrete arterial and reconstructed the shared-use path. Drainage facilities were a major component of the project. The preliminary phase of the project included a detailed drainage analysis. Apex’s Water Resources Group studied the existing hydrology and developed alternatives to combine multiple existing outfalls into one outlet directly into Puppy Dog Coulee.

The project increased roadway capacity, improved safety for the traveling public, enhanced access for non-motorized users, corrected isolated drainage issues along the corridor, and brought the first roundabout to the City of Minot.
