Team Members Serve on National Associations Level

Olson and Paustian Serve at National Association Level

Karla Olson, PE and Tim Paustian, PE serve the Water Environment Federation (WEF) and American Water Works Association (AWWA), respectively, on a national level.

Karla Olson, PE accepted the delegation position in 2014. The North Dakota Water Environment Association elects one delegate for a three-year term to represent the state member association in the Water Environment Federation (WEF) House of Delegates. The duties of the WEF House of Delegates include representing the interest of their respective Member Associations and advising the Board of Trustees on the strategic direction, policies, and initiatives of WEF. The House of Delegates consists of 119 Delegates from 75 Member Associations from around the world. WEF was founded in 1928 as a technical and professional organization to support clean and safe water and today has over 36,000 members worldwide.

Tim Paustian, PE serves as a Director on the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Board of Directors. Tim was nominated and accepted the Director position in October at the annual AWWA State Conference held in Fargo. The AWWA Director position is a three year term. The role of the National Director is to assist in setting the policies and direction of the Association, represent the interests of the North Dakota Section of AWWA, and advocate for the vision, mission and goals of the Association.

Apex encourages participation in industry associations, and we are proud that Tim and Karla have been chosen to represent the State of North Dakota.
