Apex Engineering Group assisted the City of Ottertail in securing funding assistance for the pedestrian trail, helping to bring the Tyler Wohlers Memorial Trail to life—a much-needed improvement that enhances safety along State Highway 78 and offers a dedicated, off-road path for non-motorized users traveling between Otter Tail Lake and key City amenities, including the Pelican Bay public water access. 

From early concept development through funding strategy, final design, and construction, Apex served as a key partner in helping this rural community navigate the complex process of securing and managing infrastructure funding. Our team guided the City through the funding acquisition process, securing over $300,000 in grant funds through the MnDOT Local Partnership and Local Road Improvement Programs, and provided grant administration services to ensure smooth and compliant implementation.
