Apex Team Wins
2026 ND ACEC Awards

Apex Takes Home Three
2026 ND ACEC Awards

We are pleased to announce that our team has won three 2026 ND ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards in the categories of Building/Technology System, Waste and Storm Water, and Transportation. These achievements are a testament to our team’s talent, hard work and dedication. Thank you to the ND ACEC for recognizing these three great projects.

Each project has a key aspect that sets it apart. Here is a little more about each.

Bismarck State College Advanced Technology Center – Category B Building/Technology System

Bismarck State College BSC began advancing its mission to become North Dakota’s Polytechnic Institution. The result was a multi-use, high-impact learning center. Our electrical team equipped the BSC Advanced Technology Center with a future-proof electrical design that will adapt as the program needs change. The center is designed for flexibility and innovation and supports programs in cybersecurity, robotics, and advanced tech training. Unique features include advanced infrastructure, such as comprehensive electrical power distribution, customizable LED lighting, integrated telecommunications, video surveillance, fire safety systems, and sophisticated audio-visual technologies throughout.

Fargo Water Reclamation Facility Waste and Storm Water – Category F

Apex has been the City of Fargo’s Wastewater engineer since 2010, delivering reliable, efficient, and state-of-the-art wastewater solutions. Plans for Fargo’s Water Reclamation Facility focused on regional growth and long-term capacity, replacement of aging infrastructure, and operational efficiency. It is the largest wastewater treatment facility in North Dakota, treating an average daily flow of 29 million gallons, with peak flows up to 50 million gallons. The facility also supports some of the most stringent effluent standards in the state, making it an innovative project as well.

South Washington Street Reconstruction Category H – Transportation
South Washington Street in Bismarck is a critical north-south arterial that runs the length of the City. The project segment consisted of the original 2-lane rural county roadway that was no longer serving the needs of the surrounding urbanized areas. The solution, a three-lane urban corridor, was planned, designed and reconstructed to improve safety, capacity, and pedestrian mobility. The City and Apex Engineering Group worked together to add features, including lighting, landscaping, a 10-foot-wide multi-use pedestrian trail, a 5-foot-wide pedestrian sidewalk, the extension of a 16-inch watermain, the installation of a storm sewer system and traffic signal installation.
We are proud to recognize these projects and our team of engineers, who showcase the breadth of our work. Congrats to all involved in these projects! Thank you to our clients who make these projects possible.

ND ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards recognize engineering firms for projects that demonstrate exceptional innovation, complexity, achievement, and value. Entries come from 12 project categories.
