TRANSPORTATION GROUP WON 2020 ASPHALT AWARD
Congratulations to our Transportation group for receiving the 2020 MnDOT Work Zone Safety Award. They were recognized for work zone safety during the Mill and Overlay Construction Engineering work on the Highway 2 project between Bena to Ball Club Minnesota.
The project included milling up to 4 inches of existing asphalt to improve the roadway profile and cross-slope followed by installing 2 inches of new asphalt. The milling operation and the overlay installation took place in a continuous work zone. The contractor’s construction train, at times, included 4 mill machines, 3 pavers, 4 brooms, 3 rollers and several dozen trucks. This was one of the first projects within MnDOT to implement e-ticket software to verify asphalt quantities.
Congratulations to all involved, including Apex team members:
Josh Olson, Tony Lapp and Dalton Dryburgh.
