Overview

The City of Moorhead has reconstructed the vital 20th Street South corridor in multiple phases from the I-94 ramps to 12th Avenue South. Apex Engineering Group led the planning and design for the final reconstruction phase from 12th Avenue South to 6th Avenue South.

Project Details

The City of Moorhead turned to the engineers and designers at Apex Engineering Group to oversee the planning, design and bid documents for this urban arterial reconstruction project. The plans needed to accommodate the potential for a future four-lane section, while still accommodating the existing lane configurations at each end of the project. Apex provided four design alternatives for widening the roadway both with and without a center median. A Traffic Safety Analysis and a Traffic Memorandum for the corridor were also prepared as part of the Project Memorandum.

This project was partially funded through federal funds and plans required strict adherence to MnDOT design standards and specifications.

Estimated Construction Cost: $1.6 million
